	The Botswana Council of NGOs is the official umbrella body of NGOs in Botswana. It is registered formally with the Register of Societies. It is therefore the legitimate and recognized voice of the NGOs in Botswana. The organization was formed in 1995 as a network of NGOs in Botswana. BOCONGO exists to provide for an enabling environment of NGOs. One of its most important objectives is capacity building of the sector and networking. Membership. BOCONGO has over 80 members from 11 thematic areas. (Find attached an annex of membership). Activities. BOCONGO conducts capacity building workshops, skills development, lobby activities, networking etc. Budget. BOCONGO is supported by a number of donors, among them the Government of Botswana, Africa Capacity Building Foundation, Forum Syd, Friedrich Ebert Foundation and many others. The budget of the organization is in excess of one million US Dollars per annum. Human resources. BOCONGO has a staff compliment of 10.
